As the night descends with its eerie cloak,
My broken heart begins to choke.
The memories of a time that once was,
Now leave me stranded, alone in this cause.
Once I was happy, but now I see,
That happiness was but a cruel mockery.
The people who promised to stay by my side,
Have left me stranded, in this lonely ride.
And as the night grows darker and bleak,
My shattered heart continues to leak.
For the night makes me realize the pain,
Of a heart that's broken and left in disdain.
The emptiness I feel, is all-consuming,
My soul is drowning, in this endless glooming.
And so I lay here, in this abyss of sorrow,
Hoping for a better tomorrow.
But the night reminds me of the harsh truth,
That life is but a fleeting youth.
And in this dark, cold and endless night,
I find no solace, no ray of light.
For I am left with nothing but my pain,
And a broken heart that will never mend again.
