Unseen love

2023-08-22
unrequited-love heartbreak betrayal abandonment pain acceptance moving-on loyalty
I gave my love, my everything and all,
A story of turmoil, I now recall.
She was my light, my shining star,
But she chose darkness, left a scar.
I loved her faults, each one I knew,
I showed my soul, so raw and true.
But she walked out, our story broke,
A love so real, now just a joke.
I was loyal, honest and kind,
But she chose to leave me behind.
In what she did, the truth is clear,
She doesn't want me to be near.
I feel the pain, the hurt, the burn,
As she goes back to him, I learn.
I gave my all, but now I'm none,
Forgotten, left alone, my love outrun.
I hoped, I wished, she'd see the light,
The love we shared, so deep and bright.
But blind she stayed, on her run,
To an old love, she was still undone.
I see now, it's nothing how much we try,
How much effort, how much we cry.
If they won't see, nothing will be right,
Everything will fade which once was bright.
In the whispers of pain, I find my way,
Accepting the truth, my only say.
In these ashes, a new day's begun,
A chapter closed, a lesson won.
